Docility is a word that just came to me partly through some therapy work I'm doing. Do you have any suggestions on books, essays, saints, etc. where I could read more about it? Thank you! PS - also had the idea my whole life until a week ago that it mean "easy to control" and then learned it means "teachable". Dang.

This spoke to my heart, I have chewed on this same thought over the past few weeks. I'm also trying to figure out how God is calling me to be more soft and feminine with my fiery personality. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us!

Nell! I’ve been a longtime reader of yours since BIS and I love your humility and candor in your writing. I resonate SO MUCH with your aversion to docility, and what’s crazy is that my heart has been being guided towards it - the word “docile” came to me last night in an unmistakable call to focus on and embody it, and then this morning I read your piece. The Holy Spirit isn’t messing around!

My husband has been encouraging me to go on a silent retreat, and I’ve been gently pushing it off for one reason or another, but this might be the prompting I need to actually take the time and go be silent for a little bit.
